Discussion of Responsibility System (positive behavior support)
99% of students now on “Y”
the system is working with almost 5x fewer behavior incidents this year as compared to last year at this time.
Concerns about students getting labels as “good” or “bad” students as a result of the system have not played out – students taking longer to get to “Y” have had their progress framed positively to avoid stigma.
Now that students are on the “Y” to maintain enthusiasm for this there will be a pins/sticker/badge system to recognize students who are, e.g., “on the Y for X# of days” as a way to continue positive momentum.
