- Welcome (3 minutes)
- School Improvement Plan Discussion (45 minutes)
- Discussion on whether to continue funding dance.
- Legislature has made a change which means this will be about $25,000, instead of $15,000 as it has been previously.
- Statewide impact for Beverly Taylor Sorenson change
- Whatever the decision, want to message to community/district that this program is highly valued
- Messaging/fundraising possibilities? Any other options to fund dance?
- Logan Schools foundation possibility? (Update, probably cannot fund salary)
- Alternative is to fund an additional aid, with particular need in 1st/2nd grades to support early literacy skills with one-on-one, immediate feedback.
- Reviewed full plan, goals, and budgeted items.
- Motion to Approve School Improvement Plan
- Katie Lee-Koven moved to approve plan as written with funding for an additional aid and not for dance.
- Candie Miller seconded
- All in attendance voted in favor of approving plan as written (attendees listed above, Tessa Burton had to leave before vote)
- Follow Up
- Additional vote to be held online to ensure that a majority of council members participate.
