    • Acadience Math
      • Reading: BOY to MOY
        • Percentages of students above benchmark from BOY to MOY: K- 55% up to 92%, 1st - 53% to 45% (not all students have finished testing), 2nd - 48% to 55%, 3rd - 51% to 54%, 4th - 45% to 59%, and 5th - 65% to 64%
        • Very positive results
        • Is it helpful to look at previous years to see trends?
        • 1st grade is only 1% difference this MOY compared to last MOY.
        • What can we do for 1st grade?
      • Math: BOY to MOY
        • Percentages of students above benchmark from BOY to MOY: 1st- 35% to 61%, 2nd- 32% to 48%, 3rd- 62% to 59% (13% on benchmark for MOY), 4th- not finished with testing, 5th - 20% to 20% (more showing up below benchmark)
        • What can we do for 5th grade?
    • K-2 Outcomes
      • Big celebrations for Kindergarten! 100% can identify uppercase, lowercase, and letter sounds. Students can write an average of 23 letters, and average almost 9 cvc words written.
      • How has kindergarten been so successful?
      • Good teacher training (use of Science of Reading), routines, and full day

      • Great progress in 1st and 2nd grade
    • AAPPL
      • 3rd grade- 68/86 students at benchmark for Listening and speaking test
      • 4th grade- 59/75 at benchmark for writing, 66/75 at benchmark for reading, 41/75 at benchmark for listening
      • 4th grade would like to look into some AI options to help students practice each year
      • 5th grade- 62/80 at benchmark
  • School Improvement Plan Discussion (15 minutes)
    • We would like to keep dance (about 80% comes from Beverly Taylor Sorenson Grant, 20% comes from Trust Land funds), tie it in with math Ideas to support reading goal: funding for supplemental materials for new reading comprehension program (a knowledge building curriculum)
    • Mikaela will ask teachers what they need for additional support
    • Ideas for math: math advisor? Manipulatives, materials
    • Are there routines for math similar to routines for literacy that we can start implementing?
  • Upcoming Legislation
    • Council was made aware of possible changes to the State Base Budget Bill that may have an effect on DLI. Council members can reach out to Dan Johnson with concerns. Edited to add: DLI funding will remain for this year
