Agenda
Old Hillcrest Update:
Asbestos abatement complete; Utilities are being shut off
Nov 1 earliest demolition date, most likely will be Nov 7 before demo officially begins
3rd – 5th grade EOY Data
Overall, LA 50%, Math 41%, Science 53%
There is the most room to grow in math, we are above the district average but below state average
Breaking it down by grade, 3 rd grade is lower than the state average. Could be because a number of reasons, are there ramifications for low scores that jump higher in 4 th grade?
This year we are setting the benchmark
MGP – (anything above 40 is considered significant growth) LA 58, Math 55, Science 62
We looked at comparisons to similar schools
Goal next year is to improve in all areas
ESP of the year
Committee voted on the ESP of the year based on the nominations.
PBIS Plan Update
(Positive Behavior Intervention System) There is a monthly group that identifies a monthly focus for the school. BARK bucks are given to support the focus. District interviewed Jill, Teachers, and some students about the school rules and the PBIS Plan. Results of the survey show all at the school have the same general idea of what rules and expectations are, but we can work on all having common language to describe the school plan.
Parent Teacher Connection Feeback
Positive feedback – it is nice to have a face to face connection. Some teachers give a lot of information, is there a way to relay some of that information ahead of time?
Next Connection will be in February
Logistical conflicts with afterschool club for some parents
RISE testing scores can send a confusing message to some parents
Public Input (10 minutes)
What is the process for applications to Hillcrest?
Currently the lottery is in March, can we move it up to match other schools in the area?
